Sudhagad

Sudhagad is one of the ancient forts in Sahyadri. It was the glory of Bhor state. Initially, Sudhagad was called as 'Bhorapgad'. During empire of Shivaji Maharaj this fort was named as Sudhagad. It lies about 53 kilometres west of Pune, 26 kilometres south of Lonavla and 11 kilometres east of Pali in Raigad District.

How To Go:-
  • From Thakurwadi:-
  • First you will need to reach at Nagothane which is on Mumbai-Goa Highway.Even by Kokan Railway passenger train you can get to the Nagothane.From There you will get a Rikshaw to Pali & From Pali S.T Buses available upto Thakurwadi.Thakurwadi is the base village of Sudhagad.
  • From Dhondse:-
    S.T. buses are available for Dhondse from pali.It will take 3hrs. to reach top by this way.
Facsinating Spots:-

The first fort has several ruins of two temples dedicated to Shiva. However, the temple of Bhoraidevi is well maintained temple. On the large plateua at the summit, there are two lakes, a house,Pant Sachiv Wada, a big granary, some tombs, Vrindavan and numerous other ruins, scattered around the fort area. There are three main gates the largest of which is called the Maha Darwaja.From the top, other forts like Sarasgad, Korigad, Dhangad, Taila-Baila are clearly visible.Mahadarwaja of Fort is Replica Of Raigad.On This Fort There is a Cliff Which is Known as "Takmak Tok".

There is Enough water all through year.

Food Availability:-
One should make their own food on Fort .

Shelter Availability:-
In Pant sachiv wada 50-60 people can Accomodate.Even Bhorai Temple is good place for stay on a fort.
