is Located on the border of Thane , Pune & Ahamadnagar in the Malshej Ghat Mountain Range.
This Fort is famous because of its Thumb Shaped pinnacle & easy Climb upto the top.
How To Go:-
- From Khireshwar (Khubi Phata):-
On A Way To Ahmadnagar,after Malshej Ghat there is a Village called khubi.From khubi a way goes to
Khireshwar Village.Khubi To Khireshwar Distance is approx 5km.After reaching Khireshwar a way goes straight to Tolar khind.After reaching Tolar khind you need to go upwards left there is Medium Graded Rockpatch supported with railings.After sometime you will reach to a large plain.Then there are 2 ways to Reach Harishchandreshwar Temple.
one way goes straight from Balekilla of the Fort and another one goes Slightly Right side.by this Way we will reach to Temple by crossing 7 hills.
- From Pachnai:-
To Reach Pachnai First You will need to reach Ghoti on a Mumbai-Nashik Highway.From Ghoto reach to Rajur & from rajur there is Bus tansport available upto Pachnai.Pachnai is also the base village of fort.you will need 3 hrs. to climb fort from here.route is very simple.
Facsinating Spots:-
Major Attraction Of Harishchandragad is Kokankada.Kokangada is the Curved cliff of approx. half km diameter.Height of Kokankada is approx 4500ft.Kokankada is hr.away from the Harishchandreshwar Temple.Besides Kokankada there are many spots to see on fort these are Kedareshwar cave,Harishchandreshwar Temple,Taramati,Caves etc.

water is available in the tanks near temple .

There are many caves to acomodate.
